Where do I put my SEO keywords?

Are SEO meta tags important?
Yes! But not all of them. There are four kinds of meta tags:
- Meta Keywords Attribute – A series of keywords you deem relevant to the page in question.
- Title Tag – The title of your page.
- Meta Description Attribute – A brief description of the page.
- Meta Robots Attribute – An indication to search engine crawlers (robots or “bots”) as to what they should do with the page.
Meta Keywords Attribute is antiquated, and you shouldn’t worry about it. Your Meta Robots Attribute is most likely already set to “index/follow” (you can read more about all these terms in the above link). What you should worry about is your title tag and meta description:
Will HTTPS affect SEO?
Yes! If you’re not familiar with HTTPS, it is essentially a more secure form of HTTP. Look up at the URL of this page. See the “https” at the beginning, and the word “Secure” to the left of it? Google looks on pages like these favorably. Not only does it index HTTPS pages first, but it also recognizes HTTPS as a ranking signal. HTTPS is also faster than HTTP, which can affect click-through rate. So yes, changing to HTTPS should positively impact your rankings!
We Know What Works, And What Doesn’t.
SEO is not an exact science. The best practices for SEO evolve frequently because it’s based on ever-changing algorithms set up by the search engines to give people the best results. So, for example, if Google decided it favored websites with purple backgrounds over those with any other color, SEO best practices would have to change to match that parameter.
Google’s preferences are less random than favoring the color purple, of course, but you get the drift. An accepted practice in SEO a few years ago may not work now, and that leads to the perception that SEO does not work: if you are using outdated guidelines or practices, your site simply won’t rank well.
SEO only works when you use the current best practices. When you do this, Google and other search engines will increase your website’s ranking, leading to an increase in traffic and, in turn, conversions.
But when you do SEO incorrectly, it does not work. And that can also lead to the perception that SEO is ineffective.
